  • Vision insurance contributes to help cover a routine eye exam (when there is no medical diagnosis or complaint) and either glasses or contact lenses. Medical insurance provides coverage for medical diagnoses during your eye exam (e.g. cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, red eye, pink eye, dry eye and many more). Copays, coinsurance, and deductibles apply according to your particular plan.

  • Yes! An eye exam is more than just checking for glasses. It helps us check the eye health, visual development, and eye muscles to make sure a child is set up for success at school and home.

  • Most digital eye strain is caused by how we use screens, and blue light filters do not fix that. The sun is actually the largest natural emitter of blue light! While blue light glasses certainly can help with glare reduction, it is also important to practice good visual hygiene and protect your eyes with a good pair of sunglasses.

  • Yes! We have many ways of objectively performing tests to diagnose and treat eye-related issues. We can actually determine someone's eyeglass prescription without even asking them which is better, 1 or 2 many times. This is very helpful when examining young children or non-verbal patients.

  • Yes. In most cases, a one year warranty is included on both frames and lenses with anti-glare. We can address even minor problems either through repair or replacement. A $15 lab work and acquisition fee may apply.

  • Certainly. We have many house discounts and frame/lens packages to keep the cost of glasses down for those without vision insurance!

  • When you are a contact lens wearer it is important to have a yearly eye exam because you are wearing something in your eye. We need to check for a healthy fit of the contact lens and look at your eyes without the lens as well to ensure good eye health and proper wear routine. If you are over wearing your lenses you can develop eye issues like corneal ulcers which can do damage to your eye and keep you from being able to wear contact lenses for the long term.

  • Our doctors are ready to help care for you in the event you have an urgent issue or injury with your eyes. If it is after hours, we have an emergency triage line that is available to call or text with the doctor on call. Call our regular office number to get the after hours phone number.
